From the Tree, navigate to the appropriate folder:
(+Websites, +aafp.org, +AAFP News Now, +folder where you want your story to be placed)

On the right of your screen you’ll see a “New” tab with drop down arrow. Click on arrow and select “New Page”. A box will appear requiring the following information:

  • Name = Label from story (exp: 20130812meded)
  • Title = CQ Title from story
  • Scroll down and select ANN News Article Template
  • Create to save

Your story will be placed on the bottom of the folder’s contents so you’ll have to move it into the correct position:

  • On the tree, make sure your folder is open by clicking on the +sign.
  • Scroll down to bottom of folder’s contents
  • Click and hold on story title, drag it up slightly and click “home” on your keyboard)
  • You’ll notice a thin line which will help you see where the story will be placed.
  • Release the mouse

Creating Grid blocks

Grid Blocks must be in place before substance can be added to your page. From the Sidekick, drag 100% Grid block onto the page.  Drop it once you see the green check icon and the area outlined in purple.

From the Sidekick, select 100% grid block and drag over to the box that says “Drop Grid Block”. Drop when the purple square and check icon appears.

Adding Components

Moving components around on a page can be difficult. It’s best to add components in the correct order to reduce having to move them later. A classic ANN item page will use components in this order: Text, Image, Text, Callout Box, Text

  • Place the cursor in the new window and then use ctrl+v to paste the text.
  • Click OK to save

  • Right click on block and select Edit. Find the image by navigate or searching for it by title from the Content Finder menu in the left part of the CQ window.
  • To find the way to the image, use the far right tab on the Content Finder, which opens the CQ Tree. Open +Digital Assets, +AAFP and then choose the subfolder in which your content is saved.
  • Click and drag the image into the image component on your page.

  • Select size – 380 for typical article page.

Using the CQ Tree in the Content Finder.

If you don’t know the file location, you can look for using the far left tab in the Content Finder. Enter the accurate filename if you have it. If you don’t, you can look for using “*” as a wildcard.

Drag the Anchor List element onto the page.  (From the Sidekick under Content Lists)

If you want to control the headings that will show, click on Edit.
